In early 2012, Bob Cameron founded Top Gard Inc. The idea of making the concrete pipe bollard cap was prompted by a contractor’s frustration with the time and labor needed to finish the bollards, and on top of that, the bollards looked unprofessional as a result. Bob was familiar with the concrete industry, so as soon as he was able to create a prototype, Top Gard was born. Since the product is top-rated, its sales continue to grow as more contractors and architects learn about the benefits that the product offers, such as saving them money. The product has a patent pending.
Cameron was raised around the construction supply business by his father, who was also known as Bob Cameron. The senior Cameron started his career in the 1970s with the North South Supply Company and then onto the Burke Company, where he worked up to the position of Regional Vice President. The first time Cameron acquired five Midwest locations from Aluma Systems (formerly Burke Co.) in 1993 was Triden Construction Supply. As the Business Development Manager of Triden in 2001, Cameron Jr. served as the first employee in Triden’s history. In 2004, Bob Jr. made a significant contribution to Triden by establishing a residential division within the company. Triden was sold in 2004 to White Cap Construction Supply, and Bob Jr. remained with White Cap as the Residential Divisional Manager for the company. Due to the strong entrepreneurial spirit within the Cameron family, Bob has decided to get back into the business of owning and operating a construction products business again.
